A Conversation with God (Jeremiah 33:6-11)
Me: God, things are a freakin' mess right now. You know this situation I'm in and I just can't seem to see my way out. I think I'm losing it.
God: Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it.
Me: But I am in so much pain about the whole thing. I am really hurting. I can't see straight! I can't sleep and I don't know what more tomorrow will bring!
God: I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.
Me: Things are so torn apart. I feel separated from everyone and everything. I'm lost!
God: I will bring Judah and Israel back from captivity and will rebuild them as they were before.
Me: But I've done some bad things. Really bad. Cursed, cried and said awful hurtful things in the process. I've been mad at you too!
God: I will cleanse them from all the sin they have committed against me and will forgive all their sins of rebellion against me.
Me: Really? Why would you do that?
God: Then this city will bring me renown, joy, praise and honor before all nations on earth that hear of all the good things I do for it.
Me: You're saying when you bring it all back together, all I have to do is tell others about it? What do they care?
God: And they will be in awe and will tremble at the abundant prosperity and peace I provide for it.
Me: Maybe, but I feel so dead inside. I don't know if I'll ever feel okay again.
God: This is what the LORD says: 'You say about this place, "It is a desolate waste, without men or animals."
Me: Yeah, exactly.
God: Yet in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted, inhabited by neither men nor animals, there will be heard once more the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the LORD.
Me: That sounds good but it's going to cost me something, right? What do you want from me in return?
God: Give thanks to the LORD Almighty, for the LORD is good; his love endures forever.
Me: Can it really be done? Can I really have it back?
God: For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before, says the LORD.
And....SCENE! (applause here)

Producer's Notes:
God has promised that, no matter your situation, if you call on Him, He will answer you. He will give you back your sanity and bring healing to your wounded heart and mind.
He will give you tranquility even in the midst of the storm right now. But He's also giving you the assurance that tomorrow is taken care of too. Security is confidence in the future, not the past.
He will bring you out of the wilderness and strengthen you. He will wash your sin away, never to remember or think on them again. But you have to "go tell it on the mountain" so that others will know and believe. Someone else needs encouragement from your experience.
What you thought was dead will be brought to life again. What you thought was broken will be made new again. You will laugh again. You will be happy again...in Christ Jesus.
He will bring you back from where ever you are. If you make your bed in hell, He is there. Just hold on....hold tight...hold fast. Help is on the way.
In love,
Mona
